Dean of jazz festivals in Europe, Jazz à Juan returns for a 62nd edition, which will be held from July 10 to 21 on the Côte d’Azur. All the big names in the genre will be present. Tickets are already on sale.

It is in an idyllic setting, under the Gould pine forest of Juan-les-Pins, in the Alpes-Maritimes, that the Jazz à Juan festival will take place this summer, from July 10 to 21. As every year since its creation in 1960, this major musical event will bring together new talents and the big names of the jazzy scene.

While “50% of the artists present this year have never played Juan”, like the Briton Jacob Collier or the great Joe Bonamassa, as Jean-Noël Ginibre, one of the artistic directors recently explained. of the event, this 62nd edition also features a very feminine line-up, with the arrival, in particular, of rising star Samara Joy, revelation of the year at the last Grammy Awards.

Music lovers will also be able to applaud the American Melody Gardot, the South Korean Youn Sun Nah, the unmissable Dee Dee Bridgewater who will pay tribute to the legendary Ella Fitzgerald, or even the trio Imany, Angélique Kidjo and Fatoumata Diawara.

Legend Nile Rodgers among the headliners

Festival-goers will also have the chance to attend performances by American pianist Brad Mehldau, who oscillates between jazz and pop-rock and has composed the music for numerous films by Clint Eastwood, and saxophonist Branford Marsalis who will resume, with his quartet, the titles of his latest opus “The Secret Between the Shadow and the Soul”.

Another highlight of Jazz à Juan, the presence of guitarist and creator of the group Chic in the 1970s, Nile Rodgers, as well as an evening hosted on July 16 by Sixun, as well as musicians Thomas Dutronc, Rocky Gresset and Stochelo Rosenberg.

“Apart from the festival itself, Antibes Juan-les-Pins, the ‘hometown’ of jazz in Europe, will vibrate throughout the summer to the sound of jazz, of all jazz, through the concerts of the Jammin’ Summer Session, remaining more than ever a platform for meetings and creative freedom, a unique playground for artists”, add the organizers.
