DENVER — Thairo Estrada and Joc Pederson each had two hits in a 10-hit sixth inning in which San Francisco opened a nine-run lead. The Giants held on to beat the Colorado Rockies 11-10 this Sunday and stop a slide of three losses in a row that hurt their chances of getting a wild card.

San Francisco took a 9-0 lead in the sixth inning before Colorado closed it out. After scoring four times in the ninth, the Rockies had runners on second and third with two outs when pinch-hitter Charlie Blackmon hit a soft liner to Estrada at second.

The Giants stopped their longest negative streak on the road since 1996 with 9 losses. They are two and a half games behind the last wild card spot in the National League.

Mitch Haniger put the Giants ahead with a productive double in the fifth off Chris Flexen (1-8), and Pederson’s double in the sixth made it a 2-0 game. Haniger’s double drove in two more, and Brandon Crawford hit a three-run homer off Matt Koch.

Sean Manea (6-6) made his second start since May 10, allowing three runs – two earned – and eight hits in 5 1/3 innings.

For the Giants, Venezuelan Thairo Estrada went 2-for-5 with one RBI and one run scored.

For the Rockies, Venezuelans Elías Díaz were 1-for-1 with two RBIs, and Ezequiel Tovar was 1-for-5 with one run scored; Dominican Elehuris Montero 1-for-5 with one run scored.
