Giménez supports Bielsa –

José María Giménez, central defender of the Uruguay national team, stated yesterday that the statements of his compatriot Luis Suárez about Marcelo Bielsa, coach of the national team, opened “an opportunity” to grow as a group.

“Many people are seeing tremendous chaos. Honestly, I see an opportunity. An opportunity for us to grow as a group, for us to all strengthen ourselves. I’m not just talking about the players, but about everyone. Coaching staff, players and managers. “That we are all pulling in the same direction,” said the Atlético de Madrid defender.

He stressed that the most important thing is the Celeste, and that his relationship with Bielsa is “professional.”

“It is true that in the coexistence part there were things that were uncomfortable and it is best to talk about it like the adults that we are,” he stressed.

A day before, Federico Valverde, Real Madrid midfielder, also spoke on the subject and assured that what Suárez said about Bielsa “is all true.”

“What Luis said is all true. He never lied and never said things that were not true. He never exaggerated, he told things as they are. For my part, and as part of the references, speak in the locker room. Talk to each other as a team, like what we always were and improve,” he noted.

Days ago, Luis Suárez, historic scorer for the Uruguayan team, accused Marcelo Bielsa of bad manners towards the players.

He stressed that there were footballers who asked the Argentine “to at least say good day to them.” He said that it would not be surprising if there are more players who give up playing for Uruguay.— EFE
