Vienna/Leipzig – The author Giorgio Ferretti, born in Lecco, Italy, in 1990 and studying at the German Literature Institute in Leipzig, has won the exile playwright prize. His winning play “America”, selected from almost 50 entries, tells a poetic coming-of-age story in short, laconic scenes. In addition to the prize money of 3,000 euros, the play will have its world premiere in the 2023/24 season at the Schauspiel Leipzig.
