The girl was hit by a car on the Heerderweg in Gelderland while she was cycling there with a boy. The accident was reported just before midnight, police said. According to witnesses, the car came from the direction of Heerde and drove in the direction of Epe.
The police are asking other witnesses or possible people involved to come forward, as well as people who know someone with a light-colored Volkswagen Polo. People with relevant camera images of the accident or the mentioned car can also contact the police.
