Dangerous conditions – The Bozsik Yvette Társulat presents a show with Eszter Ónodi and Bálint Adorjáni

The masterpiece of Choderlos de Laclos inspires creators of many art forms to create again and again. This time, one of the most prominent symphonic ensembles in our country, the Budafoki Dohnányi Orchestra, which has been active for more than three decades, joined forces with the Bozsik Yvette Társulat, which is also celebrating its thirtieth anniversary this year, to put on a very unique performance. The production is enriched not only by the spectacular choreography dreamed up to the music of Mozart, but also by prosaic theatrical elements courtesy of Eszter Ónodi and Bálint Adorjáni, among others.

For the premiere of the special production on February 3 will take place in Müpa.

“The race of men and women is still undecided, because it is undecidable: even Laclos could not pass judgment on it. But the glory belongs to him, that he wrote this everlasting and never-ending tender and yet bloodthirsty struggle between beings of different sexes with amazing analytical skill, knowledge of the soul ahead of his time and in his full dramatic glow.”

There will be symphonies, divertissements, masses, serenades, concertos for various instruments, organ fantasias and, of course, several parts of operas. The pieces of music are played in certain colors under the text and are intended to support the dramatic situation, some pieces of music come to the fore in their own right, or even provide the basis for Yvette Bozsik’s choreography in certain scenes – as dance and movement will also be an important element of the production.

The artists of the Bozsik Yvette Társulat, which is 30 years old this year, portray the butlers and maids who rush around the protagonists and who know all the secrets of the gentlemen and ladies. The permanent creative partner of the Budafoki Dohnányi Orchestra, Nóra Árva, uses her usual taste and sense of proportion to create the peculiarly modern rococo milieu in which the characters exist with her sets and costumes. BDZ itself provides the complete, live music under the direction of Guido Mancusi.

All tickets for the performance are sold out, but Müpa will broadcast the production live on February 3, starting at 19:30 at the link below:
