In fact, this celebration may seem logical, because the first part “ Knives Out »was distinctive and charming, and perhaps this magical and entertaining world that writer Rian Johnson succeeded in weaving in the first edition, positively overshadowed the audience’s impression and opinion in the second edition, so sometimes we deliberately overlook bad things in our lives, to keep a clear mood or the image Idealism is about some things that are stuck in our minds and feelings.
But in fact, I want to disturb this mood and destroy this beautiful image, and adopt what came from the words of the hero of the second part, “Miles Bron”, who was embodied by Edward Norton: “If you want to bring about a radical change, break a rule, model, or custom, but choose something boring.” People from him, everyone’s going to get excited because you’re busting this thing.”
And I want to break this work, in which its writer could not create the same exciting world in the first version, as the movie started with a promising, interesting and exciting beginning, then the writer almost forgot what he was writing, and he came in the middle of the movie amid moments of excitement, to retell the novel and reintroduce the characters Then he made a sudden mess and ended the movie with a childishness that made me disappointed after wasting more than two hours watching a movie no less epidemic than the epidemic of the period in which it was filmed, which is the Corona period!
The story of the movie Glass Onion.. A strong beginning and a childish ending
The film begins with inviting a group of wealthy friends to the island of tech billionaire Miles Brown “Edward Norton”, and since they are amateurs of solving mysteries, “Miles” asks them to solve the mystery of his imaginary murder during a dinner party on the island.
In seconds, veteran investigator Benoit Blanc “Daniel Craig” solves it, and spoils the party and the entire game for friends, so everyone decides to leave the island in the morning, but suddenly one of the friends dies, and the electricity goes out on the island, so another friend, “Andy”, gets shot and everyone thinks she was killed. .
The film stops at this exciting moment, to start telling the story from the beginning and introduces us to the friends and their relationship with “Miles”, and how he exploits all of them in his shady business, as we learn about the mystery of “Andy” being killed by “Miles”, then we know that the shot was fired. On the island is not Andy, but her twin sister, Helen, and she hired the veteran detective, Blank, to help her solve her sister’s death.
And when the “flashback” ends, we see the friends gathered inside the palace after the murder of their friend “Duke”, and the veteran investigator reveals the truth, which is that “Miles” is behind his killing after putting pineapple in his drink, because “Duke” suffers from a fatal allergy to pineapple.
Events accelerate, and Helen appears with her sister Andy’s handkerchief, which proves her ownership rights to a great idea that Miles stole from her and then killed her, but the latter immediately burns the handkerchief that proves his theft, and pressures his friends not to stand by Helen in court. Indeed, they acquiesce in it.
Here Helen asks for help from Detective Blank, but he tells her that there is nothing left to do, then gives her a hydrogen energy crystal invented by Miles, so she destroys the palace and the entire island, and the movie ends with the scene of the veteran investigator and Helen sitting on the beach waiting for the arrival of The Greek police, and in this way succeeded in taking revenge and achieving justice for her late sister!

There is no doubt that you will feel strange enjoyment in the first half of the movie, because the idea started as exciting and interesting, but suddenly the writer and director steals this feeling from you, as if he was unable to complete his attractive idea.
For example, writer and director Rian Johnson continued throughout the film to refer to the Mona Lisa painting inside the palace, as if alerting us as viewers to something clever that will happen through this painting, only to be surprised at the end that nothing will happen through it and that it will burn like the rest of the contents of the palace in the end.
There is something wrong with the film, which is that the team consisting of Edward Norton, Daniel Craig, Kate Hudson, Dave Batista, Odom Jr. are completely heterogeneous, just bright and shiny names in a dull work, as their written characters are dull in which you cannot touch any difference or contrast or even similarity.
The movie may be just for fun, yes, but there are films in the same direction, which have excelled by far, and have been shown on the same platform “Netflix”, and achieved pleasure for all viewers, the latest of which is the movie “The Red Notice” by Dwayne Johnson, and in comparison you will find how he achieved pleasure, and achieved all the elements Drama, drawing characters, and understanding their motives, while we see in “Glass Onion” that we are facing a work whose idea is exciting, but it was already suffocated by helpless plot ropes, weak characters, and a chaotic and childish ending.
Writer Rian Johnson definitely needs another writer in the next part, who helps him create an exciting and complete plot, capable of astonishing people, because this type of film needs smart writing, not writing a “card”, then closing and delivering in a hurry, because this The method seems to be a global phenomenon, as the last thing creators think about right now is the audience!
