Dios Salve a la Reina (God Save the Queen) emerged in 1998 in Rosario, Argentina, formed by Pablo Padín, Francisco Calgaro, Matías Albornoz and Ezequiel Tibaldo and began its first steps in small towns in its hometown.

From 1999 to 2002 the group continued with presentations and established itself in its country. Furthermore, in 2003 he appeared for the first time on local open TV and won the Cavern Club of Buenos Aires, a competition that allowed him to make presentations in England during 2004.

The group captivated Liverpool and London and later performed at the Mathew Street Festival before 35,000 people. During their stay in England, the group members met the original Queen guitarist, Brian May, who was surprised by the physical resemblance of the musicians and praised his work due to the respect with which they performed the tribute.

That same year the band was invited to the most important Queen convention in Latin America, in Brazil, where it was declared “Best tribute to Queen in South America.”

Starting in 2005, the group established itself internationally and offered concerts in countries such as Spain, Switzerland, England, Brazil, Peru, Ecuador, Chile and Venezuela, among others.

He arrived in Guatemala for the first time in June 2012.the year in which the band also offered its first concerts in other Central American countries.

Prior to their first concert in the country, the group told Free Press that the desire to become a Queen tribute band arose as a hobby that, over the years, grew in popularity. show, They added elements, such as costumes, characterizations and instruments, until they reached what they project on stage today.

That year, the band gave a concert on June 29 at the Grand Tikal Futura Hotel in Guatemala City.

In 2019 the group returned to the country and on February 20 of that year they offered another show at Fórum Majadas, in the capital.

Convinced that Queen’s fans are demanding, the band’s musicians returned to Guatemala with the responsibility of giving a concert with the hits immortalized by Freddie Mercury.

The musical evening began at 7:50 p.m. with the participation of The Rubber Souls, Guatemalan group made up of Alejandro Rodríguez (vocals), Ariel Muralles (lead guitar), José Gabriel Morales (bass) and Estuardo Mendoza (drums).

For the concert, The Rubber Souls had the support of Mafer Álvarez and David Salguero, on the choirs, and Estefanos Mayén as a special guest on the harmonica.

For approximately an hour, the musicians delighted the audience with a repertoire that included songs such as Heroes (David Bowie), With or Without You (U2), Help!, Can´t Buy Me Love, Love Me Do (Los Beatles), Mr. Blue Sky (Electric Light Orchestra, y Eye in the Sky (The Alan Parsons Project), among others.
