The Egyptian actress, Hala Sedky, defended the Moroccan star Saad Lamjarred, who was sentenced to six years in prison by the French judiciary, after the French criminal court convicted him of raping a French girl, in the case whose chapters date back to one of the nights of October of the year 2016 in the French capital. Paris, which sparked widespread controversy on social media platforms.
The famous star asked, during media statements, about the girl’s behavior, saying, “I’m going with a hotel guy, what do you do?”, sarcastic that she went with him to write a book or do a seminar.
She also added, “He is a young man, and she was with him, is it with the aim of exploiting him financially or for another purpose,” indicating that Saad Lamjarred made a mistake, but the girl made a 500 mistake.
And she continued, “She gave him permission and allowed him to do so,” indicating that what happened was the result of what the girl did.
Anger and criticism
Hala Sidqi explained that her defense of the Moroccan artist stems from her close friendship with him, and that this friendship will continue permanently, even if a final ruling is issued against him.
Hala Sidqi’s statements sparked angry reactions, as many considered that she blames the girl, noting that her thinking is “masculine”, stressing that the girl’s refusal is considered one of her rights, even if she is with him in a closed place.
While others saw her justification as logical, and considered that the girl bears the consequences of her behavior by accompanying a young man to a hotel room.
Temporary release
It is noteworthy that the Moroccan artist was released last April under a temporary release that was requested by his defense team.
In an exclusive interview with Al-Arabiya.net from Paris, French lawyer Jean-Marc Fadeda, Saad Lamjarred’s lawyer, confirmed the news of the Moroccan artist’s release without restriction or financial guarantee, and that he will not return to prison again to complete his sentence.
He also added that the case continues, but Saad is outside the bars in France, and he can travel, provided that his residence is in France, in the event that he is asked again to hear his statements by the French judiciary.
Lamjarred’s lawyer denied the news that the owner of “From the First Minute” was released on the condition that he wear a bracelet to monitor his movement, and that his passport is seized by the French authorities.
