BOSTON (SID) – Former Masters and US Open champion Dustin Johnson has become the first American to win a tournament in the highly controversial LIV Golf series. The 38-year-old prevailed in the play-off in Boston/Massachusetts once morest Chilean Joaquin Niemann and Anirban Lahiri from India and thus secured the proud prize money of the equivalent of 4.05 million euros.

World No. 2 Cameron Smith, reigning British Open winner, was a stroke behind in tied fourth. Martin Kaymer from Mettmann shared 21st place.
