Goodbye to screenshots: WhatsApp will no longer allow them in photos or videos | Big Bang

WhatsApp follow improving its functionalities to offer the user a complete experience. If a few weeks ago we knew that it was not necessary to create a chat with yourself because it already included this option and what could you walk out of a conversation without anyone noticing, to these we must add a new one that will revolutionize everything. It has to do with screenshots, one of the most used resources by all of us who use this application. For our luck or our misfortune (depending on how you look at it), WhatsApp has made a drastic decision. And yes, the worst news has arrived: it is going to block screenshots to temporary files or, rather, to those that can only be seen once in the chat.

With the clear objective of guaranteeing greater privacy to users, this instant messaging application has developed a new functionality that prevents these temporary documents, which do not appear in the “files” section of the conversation with your recipient, from being stored. Yes, those that when you get in appear under the “links”, “documents” or “photographs” tabs and that collect everything that person has shared from the beginning. But in that huge list temporary files are not picked up.

So this novelty will only be available, at least for now, for the settings for these single display images, that is, those that only allow you to see it once and that did not give you the option to share it with other contacts, or even save it to your reel, unless you took a screenshot. However, this is now going to change as WhatsApp is already preparing the integration that prevents this option for temporary files.

How to block screenshots on WhatsApp?

Best of all, this option to prevent screenshots in WhatsApp temporary files will be freely chosen, since each user can decide if they want to activate or deactivate it. How? From the application configuration itself.

If someone decides to deactivate this mode in their WhatsApp account and another user decides to take a screenshot of the photo that has been sent to them, a message will appear on the screen with “unable to capture due to security policy”, in addition to the fact that you will only get a black file, in which you cannot read or see anything.
