Government denounces that fire in the gas pipeline was due to a “vile attack”

The Minister for Oil assured that they are the “same terrorist groups as always that have acted against the national interest to affect the lives of our people”

The Minister for Petroleum, Tareck El Aissami, denounced the fire registered in the PDVSA gas system, located in the Aguasay municipality in Monagas, as a “vile attack”.

He assured that they are “the same terrorist groups as always that have acted against the national interest to affect the lives of our people,” referring to the extremist opposition of the country and foreign governments.

“We raise our complaint to the country, and the peoples of the world, about a new attack on the gas system in eastern Venezuela. These are the same terrorist groups as always, which have acted against the national interest to affect the lives of our people,” El Aissami posted on his Twitter account.

He explained that fire departments continue to put out the fire to resume service at the plant, while the authorities began investigations into the incident to find those responsible for the incident.

After the fire in the gas system, no major damage to the infrastructure or injuries were reported, PDVSA Gas said in a statement. In addition, they clarified that what happened does not represent any danger for the nearby communities.
