“We have consensus in supporting the idea that there is a problem on which we cannot have inaction. It must act. In that range of options, we are not ruling out any of the ones we have on the table. Once we have an announcement from the Ministry of the Interior, we will have consolidated a large part of the unity of action that we require to advance in this matter”, asserted the authority, in reference to the “Intermediate State” or Protection project that is trapped in its presentation to Congressnot yet attracting sufficient support.

Asked directly if this meant the possibility of reinstate the State of Emergency in the areaas requested by parliamentarians and organizations of victims of crime, Jackson stated that all options remain viable.

“(This point) was not to announce these measures. These are going to be announced from the Ministry of the Interior, since it is an agenda that requires many views: social development, intersectoral ministries that went to La Araucanía during the first and second week of government, in addition to the Interior itself. These measures will be given at the appropriate time, which will not be beyond one or two more days, ”he asserted.

“There are still days to reach the announcement (of the comprehensive plan), which would be this Friday or Saturday, so we will deploy our agenda hoping that we will have results in the short, medium and long term. The priority is the insecurity of people, which is still latent, as well as the prosecution of crime, with better intelligence”, indicated the Secretary of State.

“In addition, we must work on medium and long-term issues, reviewing those that have been dragging on for years and cannot be solved overnight”said.
