Government in Senegal dissolves opposition leader Sonko’s party – Africa

Dakar – Senegal’s interior ministry has dissolved the party of leading opposition politician and presidential candidate Ousmane Sonko with immediate effect. The decision was made “following events that represent a serious and lasting breach of the obligations of the political parties,” the authority said on Monday. Sonko’s Pastef party and its leaders have called on their supporters to “rebel movements.”
