Sverdlovsk Governor Evgeny Kuyvashev emotionally reprimanded the mayors for poor preparation for the fire season, noting that the security forces, among others, were monitoring the situation. He recalled the case of ex-mayor Elena Sitnikova, who is suspected of negligence. This is how the head of the region reacted to the report of the first deputy head of the Sverdlovsk department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, Ivan Pavlenko, two participants in the meeting at the government sanatorium “Granatovaya Bay” told URA.RU.
Pavlenko, according to interlocutors, noted that a number of municipalities lag behind in organizing mineralized strips and are not actively purchasing fire extinguishing agents. And 31 mayors have still not registered in the application where the Ministry of Emergency Situations uploads data on points where fires have already started or will start in the near future. Kuyvashev paid special attention to this.

This is how security forces responded to the May fires in Kurgan, which claimed the lives of 11 people. The same claims have been made against the former head of Sosva, Gennady Makarov. His village burned down almost to the ground around the same time. It is being restored on behalf of Kuyvashev.
