Attention fans of simulation games and auto racing! Gran Turismo 7 kicks off its international competition, The Gran Turismo World Series. For this 2022 edition, hostilities have already been launched on Friday May 27 and this Saturday May 28.
The event is spread over the whole year with a grand finale scheduled for November 2022. If you have a PS4 with Gran Turismo 7 and you have the soul of a competitor, this article is for you. On to the details!
The Gran Turismo World Series: an online competition, then IRL
This international competition organized by PlayStation will bring together all fans of the GT license, after two years of inactivity. To register you must have Gran Turismo 7 installed in your PS4 or PS5.
Next, go to the game menu and go to Sport mode. Once inside, you will have the choice to participate in either the Nations Cup or the Manufacturers Cup. Of course, check carefully if your country is eligible for the competition or not.
After the Season 1 Trials, the best players will be invited to a live event. The latter will be held at Red Bull Hangar-7 in Salzburg, Austria. Spread over three days, we will see all the drivers selected during the Nations Cup and Manufacturers Cup in June 2022 compete.
Season 2 and the grand finale
The selection for season 1 has already started on May 27 and May 28, 2022. It will thus continue throughout the month of June. There’s still time to register, don’t be late!
A second season will be available for the months of August and September 2022. Then, we will resume with the live events where the second and third round of the GT World Series will take place. The winners of each round will face each other in November 2022, during the grand final. It will once again take place at Sporting Monte-Carlo, where the 2018 and 2019 World Finals have already been held.
