The now seven-year-old Tony is “angry” about it, his adoptive mother is appalled.
When Tony Hudgell was just 41 days old, he was severely abused by his birth parents, Tony Smith, 47, and Jody Simpson, 24. The injuries to his legs were so serious that they had to be amputated. In 2018, his parents were sentenced to ten years in prison. Now they are to be released early after only five years, like the British «Daily Mail» reported.
Paula Hudgell, the adoptive mother of the now seven-year-old, is appalled: “It’s like a punch in the pit of the stomach and makes me sick,” she says to the “Mirror». “These monsters have only spent five years behind bars while Tony faces a lifetime of challenges because of their infamy.”
Seven-year-old Tony wants to put his parents behind bars again
Paula Hudgell was told Simpson would be fired next week and Smith later this month, the Mirror writes. She explained that to Tony and he was “angry” about it. He later wants to become a police officer in order to arrest the two again, she says. Tony has already been awarded the “Pride of Britain” prize for raising almost two million francs for the hospital where he was treated at the age of 41 days, reports “Daily Mail”.
Paula Hudgell was particularly outraged because a law named after Tony was only passed in November 2021. This increased the maximum sentence for child abuse from 10 to 14 years.
