great first for Priska Nufer, Romane Miradoli at the gates of the top 10

After a first descent marked by the success of Ester Ledecka, it was Priska Nufer who won, this Sunday morning, the second descent of Crans-Montana (Switzerland).

At home, the Swiss, already fourth on Saturday, offered herself a dream weekend as she simply won her first victory in the World Cup. She is just ahead of the Czech by only 11 hundredths and Sofia Goggia by 23. The Italian, who had lost four small points in the race for the small globe on Saturday, took 10 from Corinne Suter (4th, +0”27). The suspense remains intact before the Courchevel-Méribel finals, the last meeting of the winter for the downhillers, even if Goggia still has a 75-point lead. (482 versus 407)

The gaps were particularly tight since 15 skiers finished in the same second as the winner of the day (Petra Vhlova, 15th at 0”99). A fifteenth place which allows the Slovak to go up to perfect height of Mikaela Shiffrin in the general classification of the World Cup (1026 everywhere)

A top 15 that Romane Miradoli managed to grab with a fine 12th place (+0”62) while Laura Gauché set the 18th fastest time (+1”25) just ahead of Lara Gut-Behrami (+1”28)

Esther Paslier, who started with bib 39, finished 40th, 2”60 from Nufer.

Before the finals in Savoie, the ladies of the world circuit have an appointment next weekend for a super-G (Saturday) and a giant (Sunday).
