Greens: election final with Kogler – burgenland.ORF.at

Politics

The election final of the Greens took place in Eisenstadt’s pedestrian zone on Saturday. Vice Chancellor and Federal Spokesman Werner Kogler took the time to answer questions about the energy crisis, but also about inflation and pensions.

Coping with the greatest of all crises also hovered above all questions: the climate crisis. “The Greens are important at all political levels. Of course, and especially in Burgenland, where the red veil is already covering everything, even in the communities. I would like to thank everyone who is running and thus creating an offer for green politics. In the end, municipal politics will definitely look different,” Kogler summarized the talks.

State spokeswoman Regina Petrik said that Werner Kogler came to Burgenland and would give the candidates a real boost for the next few days – every vote is at stake. “In Eisenstadt it’s about the third mandate, in other communities it’s about us moving in for the first time. There’s a lot of momentum going on for the last week,” says Petrik.

“Climate Choice”

The local council election is also a climate protection election. It is about how climate-friendly the communities will be in the future. “Therefore, it is extremely important that we are represented as strongly as possible on the municipal council in all 22 municipalities in which we are running. We are the only party that does not back down when it comes to climate protection, and that without backroom deals or power-political agreements,” says State Managing Director Michael Bacher. In quite a few communities where there is a stalemate between the two major parties – for example in Mörbisch or in Neusiedl – it is important that there are strong Greens who put pressure on so that something goes ahead with climate protection, said Bacher.
