Englishman Mason Greenwood, loaned from Manchester United to Getafe, managed to score his first goal since January 2022.
The 21-year-old striker faced a new challenge during the summer transfer window when he headed to Spain, after Manchester United decided that it was best for both parties to part ways.
It has been more than 18 months without an appearance for Greenwood after he was suspended by Manchester United following his arrest on suspicion of attempting to assault his girlfriend.

Those charges were dropped in February 2023, allowing the one-cap England international to resume his professional career.
Greenwood moved to Getafe on loan during the 2023-2024 season, after the Spanish capital club succeeded in completing the deal on the last day of the transfer market.
Greenwood made his debut for Getafe in September, his first match being against Athletic Bilbao, 613 days after his last appearance for Manchester United.
Greenwood was able to score his first goal with Getafe, during the Madrid team’s match against Celta Vigo in the ninth round of the Spanish League competitions.
Greenwood’s goal came in the 33rd minute of the match, when the ball arrived from Borja Mayoral towards the winger on the second post.
The angle was too narrow for Greenwood to shoot, but he managed to hit a very powerful ball into the roof of the net from within the six-yard area.
