The violation was revealed during a large-scale monitoring conducted in the markets of the Grodno region. So, on one of them, an individual entrepreneur significantly overestimated the prices of children’s goods.
— So, trade markups for soft toys exceeded the allowable level by more than 3 times, for cars – almost 4.5 times, for dolls – 5 times (the maximum maximum level of trade markup for this category of goods is no more than 30%). This entrepreneur was issued an order to suspend his trading activities, the department said.
However, inflated prices are far from the only problem in the region’s markets. In particular, numerous facts of violations of trade rules were established: the absence of price tags or a list of prices for goods, the sale of packaged products without indicating information about the manufacturer, composition, storage conditions and expiration dates.
For example, five individual entrepreneurs and one farm traded vegetables, fruits, honey, sweets without the necessary quality and safety documents.
– For all violations identified during the monitoring, recommendations were sent to trade entities for their elimination. According to the responses received, the violations have been eliminated, prices have been brought into line with the requirements of the law,” the regional KGC added.
