A woman in the town of Basateen, Aley District, Mount Lebanon Governorate, killed her husband and disposed of his body in a brutal manner, with the participation of others, in a heinous crime that shook the Lebanese street.

The wife, Lina Nasr al-Din, lured her husband, Fadi Alia, to the marital home, which he had left due to family disputes, to eat a dish of “molokhia,” and she poisoned him in the dish, which led to his death inside his home. According to a source in the mountainous town of Basateen, Aley District, the murder was carried out with a prior plan and design, and the body of the victim was then transported to the heights of the Ras al-Jabal area in the outskirts of the town of Aley and thrown away after pouring acid on it to hide the signs of the crime. The Lebanese security authorities found the mutilated body, and it was buried on Sunday in the town of Basateen. According to forensic sources who spoke to Sky News Arabia, the body was not hit by any gunshot wound. The body of the murdered husband was buried amidst anger that engulfed the town and the entire judiciary due to the brutality of the crime.
A security source following the crime file told Sky News Arabia that the wife lured her husband into feeding him his favorite food, “molokhiya.”
He continued: “After the husband’s death, his wife, with the help of two people of Syrian nationality, transported the body to a forest area in Aley, where they threw acid on it with the aim of accelerating its decomposition after throwing it.”
The source reported that the body had major deformities, which indicates that it was mutilated after death.
The brother of the victim, Imad Alia, told Sky News Arabia that his brother, the victim, Fadi, is 48 years old and the father of two sons.
The dead man’s brother gave the following details:
My brother disappeared about a month ago and we reported his disappearance to the security authorities. My brother worked in a pharmaceutical company, and on the weekends he helped my sister work at the sea resort on the beach in the town of Damour. While searching for the husband, the wife tried to distract the security forces and make the investigators believe that her husband was on a business trip outside Lebanon.
