As the launch of Grand Theft Auto VI approaches, Rockstar Games has detailed the upcoming digital and physical pre-load schedule for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S hardware.
Players preparing for the November 19 release date can begin downloading the software ahead of time. Digital pre-loading on PlayStation 5 starts on Tuesday, November 10 at midnight local time.
Xbox Series X|S Pre-Loading Begins November 10
Xbox Series X|S users will see digital pre-loading begin globally at 12 a.m. GMT on Tuesday, November 10. Code-in-box versions for both consoles are scheduled to appear through retailers starting November 12.
The pre-load file will require up to 212 GB of available disk space depending on the device. Players seeking assistance with downloads or troubleshooting can consult the official Rockstar Support platform.
Console Settings for Automatic Downloads
Configuring automatic pre-loads requires specific console settings. PlayStation 5 owners need auto-downloads enabled with the console powered on or placed into Rest Mode.
Xbox Series X|S users must activate automatic updates while keeping the console powered on or set to Sleep mode.
Digital Downloads and Official Site Features Arrive with Release
Alongside the software rollout, the official site will feature an interactive look at Vice City and the Only in Leonida section, alongside details on the Ultimate Edition and audio previews.
An official printable cover art poster and map of Leonida will be published as a free digital download on November 19. A double-sided physical edition of the poster will follow shortly after launch via the Rockstar Store for $0.99, or free with any store purchase.
Content descriptors for the release include Blood and Gore, Intense Violence, Mature Humor, Nudity, Strong Language, Strong Sexual Content, and Use of Drugs and Alcohol.
