This is because Eduardo Estrada’s men won a hard-fought victory against their rival this Saturday at the Alexis Arguello Sports Center in Managua.

The second match of the day ended 7-5, after the opening match between the United States and Trinidad and Tobago.

The national team, Patrick Ruiz, was in charge of breaking the initial parity and giving the Guatemalan team the advantage at the beginning of the first half. However, in a back and forth game, the Dominicans turned it around 1-2, through David Rondón.

Later in the second half, Alan Aguilar, Fernando Campaignac, Marvin Sandoval and Roberto Alvarado scored for the Bicolor.

This result leaves Estrada’s team second in Group C, only behind the United States due to goal difference. This is because the Americans beat the Caribbean 7-4.

Guatemala will play again tomorrow, April 14, at 10 a.m. against the Socca Warriors. And at noon, the Americans will face the Dominicans.

Let us remember that the Blue and White are seeking their sixth participation in the World Cup in Uzbekistan, in addition, the Chapines are going for the second champion title, which would equal the history of the United States, the second nation with the most titles in tow. It should be noted that Costa Rica is the one that has won the most.
