How proud would you feel if your beloved pet entered the Guinness Book of Records? The owner’s lament that his beloved cat, which recently broke the record for being the tallest in the world, was mistaken for a “fighting beast” due to its size has become a hot topic.

The beloved cat who grew up big brother cat is also certified by Guinness

According to the British newspaper “The Independent”, the savannah cat “Fenrir” has been certified by Guinness World Records as the world’s tallest living cat. This cat belongs to Dr. William John Powers of Farmington Hills, Michigan. The record is 47.83 cm measured on January 29, 2021. Cats are generally considered to be 35.5 to 43 cm tall, so they are quite tall cats.

“I am proud that Fenrir has been recognized by Guinness World Records as the tallest cat alive,” Powers wrote on Instagram, along with a photo of Fenrir. Then, in the comment section, voices such as “Congratulations!!!”, “Very beautiful cat”, “Small version of leopard! Excellent!”

In fact, the deceased brother cat “Arctus” was also certified by the Guinness World Records in 2016 with a length of 48.4 cm. This record has not been broken as the tallest ever in the United States, but Mr. Powers says, “Fenrir is still growing, so maybe he is bigger than Arctus now.”

Mr. Powers seems to feed Fenrir the same food as Arctus. Therefore, regarding Fenrir-kun, who grew up to be a tall cat that is on par with Arctus-kun, he says, “I was not surprised that he grew so big because he is genetically similar and grew up in the same environment.”

It is a love cat that grew up quickly, but Mr. Powers seems to have a certain “trouble”. That is, Fenrir-kun, who has a huge leopard-print body, is misunderstood by those around him as a “ferocious beast” instead of a cat.

“Sometimes people think I am a little leopard, a puma or an ocelot. I’ll explain something, and he’ll come to me.”

Fenrir-kun who plays an active role as a healing existence

Fenrir-kun “goes to work” every Tuesday at the office of Mr. Powers, who is also an HIV expert, and plays an active role as a soothing role for patients.

“He roams around the office. I’m sleeping curled up in that chair.”

Fenrir-kun has a special skill that makes use of his height. Being able to stand on its long hind legs and open doors. However, he doesn’t seem to be very aware of his own size, and even when he tries to hide in a box while chasing him, he often finds himself unable to fit inside the box he jumps into because it’s too small. A true Guinness cat! It seems to be out of the norm.
