Hacked LastPass, the main app to protect passwords

Via a statement, the company indicated that “an unauthorized party had access to parts of the LastPass development environment (…) and took parts of the source code, as well as certain proprietary technical information de LastPass”.

LastPass is the world’s leading password management application, that is, it protects, remembers or fills user passwords.

Despite the vulnerability, the application ensured that they did not take personal information of none of its 30 million users.

At the moment the information shows that they violated data rather typical of the patent, but nothing that can give access to the “encrypted password vaults”.

Our investigation has shown no evidence of any unauthorized access to customer data in our production environment.

They will also work on greater protection and care, said Karim Toubba, CEO of LastPass.
