Israel – Former Israeli Minister of Justice Haim Ramon confirmed that the war led by Benjamin Netanyahu’s government on the Gaza Strip failed to achieve its strategic goals.
He stressed in his post on the “X” platform, addressing Netanyahu, “Mr. Prime Minister, if the concept of responsibility has any meaning, then you must leave.”
He added, “When failure in war is so widespread and so fundamental, the necessary and immediate step is to replace the prime minister who failed.”
He continued, “The catastrophic failure on October 7 and the catastrophic failure in managing the war (on the Gaza Strip) since then are doubly true, but this catastrophic failure is not only your responsibility, but also the responsibility of Galant and Gantz, the Chief of Staff and senior members of the General Staff who planned the move.” The military and its leaders must also bear responsibility and resign immediately.”
Ramon stressed that “attacking the northern Gaza Strip and deporting more than a million Gazans to the southern Gaza Strip raised big question marks from the first day, and with the passage of time it became clear that they were a grave mistake.”
He continued, “After six months of war, the factional movement, despite being subjected to severe blows, still possesses great military capabilities.” Not only that, but the factional movement exercises almost complete civilian control over all parts of the Gaza Strip that the Israeli army did not enter or withdrew from.”
He said that the illusions of the “civilian alternative,” “local elements,” and the “joint Arab force” were not achieved.
He added: “Now in Rafah, more than a million displaced people are concentrated, forming a cover for the factional movement brigades there, which prevents the Israeli army from eliminating these brigades… You yourselves created this cover for the factional movement… and two days after the IDF left Khan Yunis, the movement’s forces were The factions have regained control of the city.”
He continued, “Worst of all is that you have not achieved any of the strategic goals of the war that you set for yourselves… You have failed to overthrow the military faction movement, and you have failed to overthrow the government of the civil movement, and 133 Israelis are still prisoners of the faction movement… You have failed miserably.”
The minister in the emergency government in Israel, Benny Gantz, had claimed that the faction movement had been defeated militarily in the war waged by the Israeli army in Gaza.
The Palestinian faction movement directs successive strikes against the Israeli army, the most recent of which was the “Al-Abrar ambush” in Khan Yunis, in which 14 Israeli soldiers were killed and others were injured, according to what the movement’s factions announced in their statement.
The Israeli army “officially” announced that 604 of its soldiers were killed and thousands were wounded in the battles in the Gaza Strip since October 7.
