In a relayed publication on the Halo Waypoint website Friday, the studio wanted to share with players the priorities on which its team was working at the moment.

“The reality is that it will take longer to be able to deliver a high-quality, full-featured 4-player online co-op experience in the huge, open world of Halo Infinite“, can we read in the text. “We are also committed to delivering an excellent 2-player split-screen co-op experience on all Xbox consoles.”

As a result, 343 Industries has unfortunately announced that online co-op and split-screen campaigns will not be rolling out when Season 2 launches next May. The studio, however, hopes to announce a release date soon.

The company also wanted to reassure players that their team was making “great progress on Forge” and that the mode is currently being tested in the hands of a few lucky ones. The developer is planning public testing later this year. Therefore, the goal is to deploy Forge at the same time as Season 3.

We recall that the output ofHalo Infinite was scheduled at the same time as that of the Xbox Series X / S in November 2020, but that the publication of the title had finally been postponed to December 2021 on PC, Xbox Series X / S and Xbox One.
