On January 17, 2023, unidentified armed men (HANI) attacked a site of the Bissa Golg gold mine owned by the Russian Nordgold. The attack caused no loss of life according to the attached press release from the mine. the reactions of the defense forces on the spot made it possible to thwart the attack.
