Egyptian artist Hani Shaker denied what is being circulated regarding giving up his Egyptian nationality following obtaining a Dominican passport.
In an interview with Et in Arabic, Hani Shaker expressed his regret for the confusion that occurred on the matter and said: “People have misunderstood, and everyone has begun issuing fatwas and saying who has any need.”
He added: “This passport has nothing to do with my patriotism, which is known to everyone, and no one can question my love for my country, Egypt, and I cannot take this step if there is any change in my position as an Egyptian.”
