Hanoi Department of Education and Training will hold a joint exam on grade 10 for all public high schools with three independent tests including math, literature and foreign languages. The entrance examination score is equal to the total score of the math test and the score of the literature test (multiplied by a factor of 2) plus the score of the foreign language test, plus the priority points (if any).
The exam will take place on June 10 and 11. In which, the math test and the literature test are in the form of essays, and the test time is 120 minutes/test; The foreign language test is conducted in the form of an objective multiple-choice test, with a duration of 60 minutes.
Each student is allowed to apply for admission to a maximum of three public high schools, ranked in the order of wish 1, wish 2 and wish 3. In which, wish 1 and aspiration 2 must belong to the recruitment area. prescribed birth; Candidate 3 can be in any enrollment area. Students are not allowed to change their wish to apply after they have registered.
Students should note that, if they are accepted for choice 1, they will not be considered for option 2 and choice 3. Students who do not qualify for option 1 will be considered for option 2 but must have a higher score than the standard for admission. The school’s 1st desire is at least 1.0 point.
Students who do not pass the 1st and 2nd choice will be considered for the 3rd choice but must have at least 2.0 points higher than the school’s admission score of the first choice. When lowering the benchmark, schools are allowed to accept students with aspirations 2, aspirations 3, and are eligible for admission.
For public high schools, the enrollment area is divided according to the administrative boundaries of districts, towns. The city has 12 enrollment zones.
Particularly, Chu Van An High School and Son Tay High School are allowed to enroll students in grade 10 without majors across the city (regardless of enrollment areas). Students pay attention to this provision during the application process to choose and decide suitable aspirations.
In the school year 2022-2023, the city is expected to have 129,210 students considering graduation from secondary school. Implementing the work of classifying students after graduating from secondary school, in the school year 2023-2024, Hanoi plans to enroll 102,000 students in the 10th grade of high schools.
According to the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, it is expected that recruitment 10th grade public school about 72,000 students, an increase of about 1,000 students compared to the school year 2022-2023; enrolling in class 10 in autonomous and private public schools about 30,000 students; recruiting about 10,000 students into vocational and continuing education centers; recruiting more than 17,000 students to vocational education institutions.
Hanoi Department of Education and Training aims to organize 10th grade enrollment for the school year 2023-2024 in accordance with the enrollment regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training; organize accurate, fair and objective enrollment; ensuring that 100% of secondary school graduates who wish to continue their studies are recruited into high schools, vocational education centers – continuing education and vocational education institutions.
The exam consists of questions according to the requirements of the standard knowledge and skills of the current lower secondary school program of the Ministry of Education and Training, mainly in the 9th grade program. In which, the math and literature exam questions ensure 4 levels of recognition. Knowledge includes: High-level recognition, understanding, application and application. The foreign language test is mainly at the level of awareness and understanding and has some sentences at the application level.
