In an official statement released this Monday, Huawei celebrated the rapid growth in adoption of HarmonyOS 4.0. According to the manufacturer, the software has already surpassed the 100 million download mark.
Furthermore, HarmonyOS 4.0 was the fastest-growing version in the system’s history, as it was installed on 5 million devices two weeks after the official launch.
This number quickly grew to 60 million downloads on September 25th, and the trend is still growing, as Huawei intends to release the software for an additional 98 older devices.
Commenting on the matter, Yu Chengdong, CEO of Huawei, celebrated the good performance of HarmonyOS 4.0, reinforcing the company’s commitment to updating all devices that can run the software.
Currently, HarmonyOS has been distributed to older devices from the Chinese manufacturer and the list not only includes smartphones, but also tablets, watches, smart home devices and even electric cars with a multimedia center.
It is important to remember that HarmonyOS 4.0 brings with it a series of new customization adjustments, ranging from the lock screen to other parts of the software, such as the settings page.
In addition, there is a 20% improvement in performance and also in autonomy, which can be extended by up to 30 minutes on some older cell phones.
Huawei also says that the opening of applications has been optimized, faster execution of heavier tasks and also several adjustments in the field of security.
On another front, Huawei has been working to bring HarmonyOS to ARM PCs and also in a version that completely gets rid of the Android core.
