Will Covid once again spoil the party during the Harvest Feria? According to the latest figures, the number of contaminations is not worrying in Gard. “We are far from the levels we have experienced in recent years. In the department, for example, we have an incidence rate of 39 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, but we are monitoring the situation closely”explains Claude Rolls, the Gard director of the Regional Health Agency who calls for taking these figures with a pinch of salt.
Indeed, the latter are probably below reality, since since July 1, 2023, only the results of tests carried out by the laboratories have been taken into account. To protect yourself, there remains the “winner double”: mask and vaccination. The campaign will also start next October. “There is no longer any obligation, which is not a bad thing, because constraints are often poorly accepted, recognizes Claude Rols. But we must be responsible and reasonable, especially when we are a fragile person.”
