Have you seen those helicopters in the sky?

Keep your eyes peeled because you might spot helicopters streaking across the sky on July 11 and 12.

According to Royal Canadian Air Force, three CH-147F Chinook type helicopters will fly over Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Cowansville and Farnham on Monday and Tuesday.

They also made a detour to Montreal on Monday.

But why?

This military exercise aims to prepare the crews for any natural disaster that may occur in the country.

2/2 Helicopter crews hone their skills to be ready for any potential operation. This specific scenario simulates the response to a natural disaster in Canada. CAF operations of this nature are referred to as Operation LENTUS.
