Sports Observatory: Press reports revealed new developments about the health of Brazilian soccer legend Pele, after he was transferred to a hospital this week.
An update last Thursday said the three-time World Cup winner was in a “stable” condition in hospital, with his daughter Kelly insisting there was “no cause for concern”.
However, a press report on “Folha de Sao Paulo” today, Saturday, stated that Pele no longer responded to the chemotherapy he had been undergoing since last September to treat bowel cancer.
They said he is now in palliative care and will not undergo surgical tests or treatment, palliative care for patients with potentially life-threatening illnesses or conditions and end-of-life care.
