A reader informed us of the intervention of around thirty police officers in Nyon (VD) on the night of Saturday to Sunday. The cantonal police confirm that six patrols went to a house near the station around midnight. The police were alerted by a witness who, from where he was, could see a man on his balcony, a firearm in his hands.
And as soon as the police receive a call of this kind, they do not skimp on the means deployed. When she landed at the home of the gentleman, no threat made, he explained to the agents that he was simply cleaning his weapon, which was in fact a soft air gun. After a verification work, the police left the scene.
As a reminder, soft air weapons fall under the arms law, when they can be mistaken for real firearms. Unlike dummy guns, which are clearly identifiable as toys. The law indicates that it is forbidden to display and use a soft air/paintball weapon in public places. All persons caught in the act will be denounced and the weapons seized by the authorities.
