Many Internet users commented on the image, with humor. “They will last twenty years with all the chemicals they contain”, can we read in particular. Russia accounts for 9% of McDonald’s Group revenue and 3% of operating profit, according to the HuffPost.

Company President and CEO Chris Kempczinski said, “In Russia, we employ 62,000 people who have invested their hearts and souls in the McDonald’s brand to serve their communities. We work with hundreds of local Russian suppliers and partners who produce our menu foods and support our brand. And we serve millions of Russian customers who rely on McDonald’s every day.”

Other Russians also rushed to brands like Ikea to buy furniture, before the Swedish giant decided to close its stores.
