A 21-year-old man was arrested for trying to kill his girlfriend in Cabimas, Zulia state.
As EJ Albornoz Arguelles (21), the apprehended was identified by officials of the Scientific, Penal and Criminal Investigations Corps (Cicpc), attached to the Cabimas Municipal Delegation.
According to the victim’s statements, the couple was in their home drinking alcoholic beverages when they started an argument.
The female wanted to go to the room to rest, Albornoz became furious since she wanted to continue drinking and under the influence of alcohol, she looked for a knife with which she surprised her partner, causing a penetrating puncture wound in her breast. He then poured gasoline into the room and lit a tinderbox, intending to burn her.
Neighbors managed to help the victim get out of his house without any burns. Immediately, a police commission arrived at the place where the aggressor was finally arrested, from whom a tactical knife for field and home use, with no visible mark, was collected as evidence.
The case was submitted to the order of the 47th Prosecutor of the Public Ministry of the Criminal Judicial District of Zulia state, Cabimas extension.
