French international Samuel Umtiti, the 2018 world champion and FC Barcelona player, is leaving on a season-long loan to Italian Lecce, the two teams announced on Thursday.

The Catalan club and Lecce, recently promoted to the Italian Serie A, “have reached an agreement for the transfer of the player until June 30, 2023” without a purchase option, the Blaugrana team announced on its website.
Umtiti suffered an ordeal in Barcelona, everyone wanted him out and the fans of his new team have received him as a “galactic” signing.
