Health Department does not report deaths from COVID-19

The Department of Health did not report deaths from COVID-19 today on its new portal, where it updates the metrics it monitors on the pandemic on a daily basis.

The agency did report 112 confirmed cases of the virus.

Regarding hospitals, there are 102 hospitalized people, a number that represents 90 adult patients and 12 pediatric patients. Yesterday the figure was 97 hospitalized.

In terms of intensive care for COVID-19, there are 21 adults in that unit.

Health also pointed out that there are 120,748 convalescents.

On the other hand, the agency detailed that weekly there is an average of 106 confirmed positive cases that are detected through molecular tests, with a cumulative total of 125,093, and an average of 94 probable positive cases that are identified through antigen tests, with a cumulative total of 18,230.

Salud mentioned that the total includes cases with samples taken from July 7, 2021 to July 23, 2021, and that the number of cases does not imply that these correspond to the last 24 hours.

The data on the suspected positive cases will no longer be published, as Health considered that the serological tests are not reliable.

Regarding vaccination against COVID-19, some 1,852,652 people are already fully vaccinated and 2,122,909 have received at least one dose.

People who are anxious about the coronavirus can call the Assmca PAS Line at 1-800-981-0023. Those with symptoms can contact the Health Department at 787-999-6202.
