Al-Marsad newspaper: The Ministry of Health revealed the golden habits to protect the kidneys, and called for avoiding the factors that cause kidney failure.

The ministry stated that the golden habits of the kidneys consist in exercising regularly for at least 150 minutes per week, drinking sufficient amounts of fluid at a rate of two liters per day, and eating healthy food, vegetables and fruits on a daily basis.

She added that the ideal weight must be maintained (the ideal physical mass is less than 25), and be sure to check blood pressure periodically, and check the level of sugar in the blood at least once a year for people without diabetes. Reducing the intake of salt, sugar, and soda.

The ministry indicated the need to stay away from the factors that cause kidney failure, including the excessive use of pain relievers.

And she stressed staying away from herbal medicines and protein products that build muscles, and making sure to conduct an annual examination of kidney function, especially for those who have one of the risk factors such as: pressure diseases, diabetes, obesity, in addition to the genetic factor, and a family member with kidney failure.
