Héléna and Hugo, a Bafa citizen (soon) in the pocket

This year, the town hall had received two applications for training in the Bafa citizen.

That of Hugo Garcia, 17, high school student, in baccalaureate pro public works. Already very active in Nantes associations, Hugo is consolidating his diploma course in animation. His passions ? “Everything related to communication fascinates me!”. At the age of 13, the people of Nantes already saw him volunteering at all the events! He also loves social networks: “in three clicks, we are everywhere!” He even got his hands dirty at the Millau Food Bank last winter.

Héléna Jordan, 20, student nurse, focuses on early childhood. In September, she leaves for Montpellier, in the hope of obtaining a CAP work-study diploma. His ideal? “Being an early childhood assistant for 0 to 3 year olds.” His passions ? Basketball, horseback riding, his two horses and dancing.

From Saturday July 2 to Sunday July 10, she was on a basic Bafa theoretical course in Naucelle, in boarding school with the AFR de l’Aveyron, just like Hugo.

In July, Héléna was recruited at the inter-municipal leisure center managed by AFR Larzac, for three weeks as a Bafa trainee. For the month of August, it’s Hugo’s turn. In July, the young man was recruited by the town hall of Nant, as a seasonal animator. Héléna will resume her post in August. They have staggered schedules, depending on the activities and the various festivities in which they participate as part of their missions.

Rekindle the flame of animation

This device called “Bafa citizen” meets a double objective: to promote socio-cultural animation among young people and to revive the flame of animation; promote by helping them, the participation of young people from Nantes in the life of the village.

At a time when there is a shortage of young people likely to be facilitators in leisure centres, this is a system that also makes sense in the children’s sector, carried today by the project of the Larzac et Vallées community of communes and the Caf.
