The parents, both initially doctors in Belgrade, later moved to Linz, and when she returns there today, Dodo Roščić still looks at this city with the eyes of her youth: “The Posthof, the Landgrave, also the Brucknerhaus, the aquarium, die Kapu…” Places of her growing up as a steel city child with the music of Texta as a soundtrack. In 1991 she graduated from high school and moved to Vienna, where she studied comparative literature and German with Wendelin Schmidt-Dengler. “I didn’t just like him in terms of Heimito von Doderer or SK Rapid, I really adored him.” He didn’t have to stop her to read more because the parents’ bookshelves were well stocked. “But I would have avoided one or the other Schiller without him!” She still prefers to read printed matter, but she also has an e-book reader.
