The Citroën C3 was the most popular car in Belgium last year followed by the Fiat 500, VW Golf, Renault Clio and Mercedes class A, according to an analysis by Febiac, the federation of the automotive sector.
In 2020, 10,420 new Citroën C3s were sold for 9,110 Fiat 500, 8,937 Golf, 8,346 Clio and 8,120 Mercedes class A.
In Flanders, the VW Golf was the most popular model followed by the Volvo XC40 and the Skoda Octavia. The Walloons favored the Citroën C3 followed by the Dacia Duster and the Dacia Sandero. In Brussels, the most popular model was the Mercedes class A, followed by the Fiat 500 and the Citroën C3.
Among the electric cars, the Tesla Model 3 stood out with 2,211 registrations. Next come the Audi e-tron (built in Brussels) and the Renault ZOE.
