“On November 23, a man (39) was shot dead at Müllerstraße 38 in Wedding. The perpetrators initially managed to escape, but have now been arrested.

As the police and the public prosecutor announced on Thursday, a 24-year-old woman was arrested in Aachen on January 14. An arrest warrant was issued in Berlin for aiding and abetting the murder of the 39-year-old.

Previously, there were several apartment searches in Aachen and Cologne as of January 10, during which many clues were secured. The criminal car, a rental car, was transferred from Bonn to Berlin to secure evidence. Investigations are underway.

Arrest warrants were issued in Berlin against the two main suspects from Aachen and Cologne. However, the two young men, aged 31 and 38, are already in custody on suspicion of armed robbery in another matter.

The two men are said to have walked from Bonn to Berlin with the 24-year-old on November 23, 2021 to kill the 39-year-old.

The astonishing motive of the killers
The 39-year-old murder victim, like the three detainees, is of Arab-Lebanese origin. According to the police, the background of the murder is a custody battle over the children of the victim!

Accordingly, the man from the sister of one of the suspects has two young children. Police said that when the sister died in Berlin in the spring of 2020, the child’s mother’s family claimed custody and kept the children in Bonn. However, the father fought for his children and tried to obtain custody of the children in court.

In December 2021 there was going to be an appointment at the family court. But she did not come to it. Now the two children are in the care of the Youth Welfare Office in Bonn.
