Hitman 3 buyers will get the first two games for free

IO Interactive simplifies its Hitman trilogy by offering in particular the first two opuses to buyers of Hitman 3.

IO Interactive has decided to simplify things for those who would be tempted to dive into the world of licensing Hitman by offering buyers Hitman 3 the first two opuses as a gift. On January 26, the company will rename Hitman 3 in Hitman : World of Assassination. This is the little name given by the studio to the recently rebooted trilogy. Furthermore, Hitman : WOA will include access to all three games.

Those who have already Hitman 1 et Hitman 2 were already supposed to have access to some of their levels in the third installment. That being said, this approach has caused some confusion. This new information could smooth things over.

If you have Hitman 3you will be entitled to a free upgrade to Hitman : WOA. IO Interactive will unlist the previous two games, but you can redownload them if you already had them. Hitman : WOA, which will cost €70, will therefore now be the only entry point for the trilogy. The current price of Hitman 3 is 60 €, but it is offered at €21 on Steam until January 5. You can also find similar deals for the PlayStation, Xbox, and Switch versions.

A new €30 Deluxe Pack will give you access to three expansion packs, which offer two additional levels, two sniper maps, l’extension Seven Deadly Sins pour Hitman 3 and other challenges. The three expansions (Hitman 3 Deluxe Pack, Hitman 3 Seven Deadly Sins Collection et Hitman 2 Expansion Access Pass) will remain accessible separately on consoles and on the Epic Games Store. The price of the Deluxe Pack on Steam will be prorated if you already have one or two of the DLCs.

IO Interactive specified in a blog post that one of the aspects that drove these updates was the Freelancer mode. This one, which allows access to all levels of the entire trilogy, is important for players who would like the full experience of the license. The Freelancer mode was supposed to arrive last year, it will finally see the light of day only on January 26th.

“We are absolutely convinced that these changes will have a very positive effect on existing players and new players. It will also make our lives easier, no doubt about it,” IO Interactive wrote. “For many players, this will mean free content to discover. For others, it will be much cheaper DLC. For new players, who probably won’t hear the news here, they’ll have a much better franchise experience. Hitman.”
