New Delhi: After India’s poor performance in the Hockey World Cup, men’s hockey team coach Graham Reid has resigned. Australian Reid submitted his resignation to Hockey India President Dilip Tirki after the World Cup Hockey matches ended in Bhubaneswar.
The Indian team won the bronze medal at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics under Graham Reid. In the Hockey World Cup, the Indian team was eliminated without reaching the quarter-finals. India, who finished second in Pool D, lost to New Zealand in the crossover match. India lost 4-5 in the shootout.
Reid took charge as the coach of the Indian team in April 2019. Reid responded that it was an honor to work in India and that it was time to step aside. Reid also said that he has enjoyed every moment of his journey with the Indian team.
