For example, Benedict Cumberbatch (45), who was nominated for “The Power of the Dog” as best leading actor this year, appeared at the notorious lunch before the big ceremony on March 27th. The actor walked the red carpet at the Fairmont Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles in a classic black suit and tie.

Kristen Stewart (31) can also look forward to an Oscar nomination this year. The “Spencer” star chose a black ensemble consisting of Marlene trousers and a revealing bolero jacket with silver applications for lunch. She pulled her blonde hair into a loose bun.

Other eye-catchers on the red carpet were Penélope Cruz (47) in her sleeveless blazer dress all in pink, Jessica Chastain (44) with a black satin dress with a plunging neckline and ruffled sleeves and Andrew Garfield (38) in a dark blue suit with pinstripes. In addition, Will Smith (53), Bradley Cooper (47), Denzel Washington (67), JK Simmons (67), director Kenneth Branagh (61), songwriter Lin-Manuel Miranda (42), Billie Eilish (20) , director Guillermo del Toro (57), director and actress Maggie Gyllenhaal (44), Steven Spielberg (75) and Ciarán Hinds (69) look at the extravagant lunch.

No group photo?

Mainly vegan dishes were served again this year. This was introduced for the first time in 2020. The Academy would like to use it to show efforts towards more sustainability and climate protection, with the aim of becoming CO2-neutral.

Usually, a group photo is taken with the nominees at the traditional Oscars lunch. However, the Academy had already announced in advance that the picture would not be available this year. Instead, the nominees were individually photographed upon arrival. The Academy then wants to put together a group photo from the recordings.
