  • Honor of Kings rolling out worldwide!

“The most played game in the world”

If you haven’t heard ofHonor of Kings, it’s normal: the mobile game was released in 2015 exclusively in China and has not been exported elsewhere since. However, the title is a hit there and represents Tencent’s goose for its gaming section. SensorTower, an expert mobile market analysis firm, reports that it was the game that brought in the most money during the first quarter of 2022. In addition, more than 145 million monthly active players were recorded in March 2022 according to QuestMobile figures and would make Honor of Kings the most played game in the world across all platforms.

Honor of Kings rolling out worldwide!

A success that is likely to continue: Level Infinite and TiMi Studio confirmed today that Honor Of Kings will launch globally later this year on all mobile devices. A soft launch will first be deployed at the beginning of July, in order to allow developers to correct any bugs but above all to test the capacity of their servers. Once this test phase has been completed, Honor of Kings will then be deployed worldwide.

In order to motivate players to compete for the title, TiMi has announced the launch of the Honor of Kings Champions World Cup 2022 (KCC) and which will be held at the end of 2022. Sixteen international teams will compete in an unknown format, in order to recover the substantial prize pool of 10 million dollars (9.3 million euros). However, it is difficult to hope to defeat the Chinese team which had to devote its last years to the title.

As a reminder, Honor of Kings is a MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena) available exclusively on mobile which is strongly inspired by a certain League of Legends. Two teams of five players compete on a map divided into three separate lanes. To win, all you have to do is defeat the opposing main tower located at the back of the opposing camp. A kind of game that the developers of TiMi know well since it is to them that we owe Pokemon Unite. If we can therefore expect some success from Honor of Kings in France, it is difficult to believe that he will succeed in dethroning the king in this area. Wait and see.
