Hoodak century (104), Sanju 77; India beat Ireland by four runs in series India Clinch Series 2-0 vs Ireland

Dublin India won the last Twenty20 match against Ireland by four runs. Score India: 225/7 Ireland: 221/5.

Deepak Hooda’s smashing Irish bowlers’ century and Sanju Samson’s 225 helped India reach the target. Hooda was the top scorer with 104 off 57 balls, including nine fours and six sixes. Sanju hit 77 off 42 balls, including nine fours and four sixes.

Sanju opened the scoring with a boundary off the first ball of the first over. Ishaan could not find the rhythm on the other side. Ishant, who scored three off five balls, was bowled by Mark Adyar in the first ball of the third over off wicketkeeper Lorcan Tucker. India 13 runs for the loss of one wicket. Deepak Hooda came third. Hooda and Sanju put on 176 for the second wicket in 87 balls. Hooda’s first century and Sanju’s maiden half – century were born. Dinesh Karthik and Akshar Patel returned to the Golden Deck with consecutive balls in Craig Young’s over.

In reply the Irish openers gave a good start. Paul Sterling (40) and Andy Balbirnie (60) started the innings with midfielders Harry Tecter (39) and George Dockler (34) admitting defeat in the final over. With this, India also owns the series.
